The recent recalls involve adult bed rails which many people use to help seniors get in and out of bed. Recent Product Recalls

We have already seen several recalls this year involving bed rails:

• Sangohe extended its recall of portable bed rails. In January 2026, the company had recalled about 26,200 adult portable bed rails, and they expanded the recall in April by an additional 36,500 units. These portable rails violate current safety standards and can lead to people becoming trapped within the rail or between the rail and the side of the mattress. Consumers are at risk of dying due to asphyxiation. Consumers should stop using the bed rails immediately and reach out to the company for a refund.
• Elenker also recalled its portable bed rails in April 2026 because of an entrapment risk which could lead to asphyxiation. Only about 30 units were sold before the recall, so hopefully there will be few injuries. Consumers should immediately stop using the rails and reach out to the manufacturer (Fuzhou Shiahaha Cultural Industry Development) for a refund.
• In March 2026, the manufacturer recalled MPINOI adult portable bed rails due to similar concerns: entrapment hazard with an increased risk of asphyxiation. About 200 items were impacted by the recall.

These recalls highlight the risks with bedding.
