Steve Snyder is a partner and co-founder of Davis & Snyder, PA. Steve focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense law, having extensive experience representing doctors, nurses, hospitals, and private practice groups both in lawsuits and medical board matters.
Steve has practiced law for almost 40 years, serving as lead counsel in hundreds of cases, with many of them ending in favorable verdicts or settlements. Steve often represents repeat clients or those referred to him by previous clients because of his tremendous reputation in the medical community.
In his medical malpractice defense practice, Steve has spent over 30 years defending healthcare professionals and institutions. He has represented clients in a wide array of medical specialties, including surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, neurology, psychiatry, internal medicine, cardiology, family medicine, emergency medicine, and more. Steve’s understanding of both the legal and medical aspects of his cases has enabled him to secure favorable outcomes for his clients, including dismissals, defense verdicts, and satisfactory settlements. Due to his track record, Steve has become one of the most sought after medical malpractice defense attorneys in South Carolina.
In addition to his malpractice defense practice, Steve is also a frequent speaker, having presented at numerous medical, hospital, and legal conferences across the country and internationally. He is regularly asked to speak on risk management and medico-legal issues, sharing his knowledge and experience with healthcare professionals and administrators to help them navigate legal complexities in their fields.
Regardless of the allegations, Steve is always preparing for trial knowing that his clients are best served if there is a pending threat of trial. If a case must go to trial, he will have meticulously combed through every detail of the records and be well equipped to defend his client.
Understanding that his clients come to him in their darkest times, Steve takes a lot of pride in being able to walk beside them and guide them through their case. Both in and outside of his practice, Steve deeply values his relationships with others, and he often remains in contact with his clients long after their case has resolved.
Steve has been named to Super Lawyers 8 times and has an AV Distinguished Peer Rating with Martindale-Hubbell, which is reserved for attorneys who have been rated by their peers as having “very high ethical standards.” Additionally, Steve has been named to Best Lawyers in America, Legal Elite of the Upstate by Greenville Business Magazine, South Carolina’s Exceptional Lawyers “The Top 50” by Columbia Living Magazine, Top Attorneys in South Carolina by Columbia Living Magazine, and Top Lawyers by TALK Greenville Magazine.
Outside of the office, Steve is an ordained elder in his church, actively serves on the boards of several charitable, service and ministry organizations, regularly leads and takes foreign mission trips, plays golf poorly, treasures time with his family and the blessing of great friendships, and feels richly blessed to be able to live and work in Upstate South Carolina.
